A simple condition such as snoring, can be a cover for something more serious. Excessive snoring may cause your brain to become oxygen deprived. This problem then leads to higher blood pressure. High blood pressure can injure your carotid arteries, resulting in an increase in plaque in the vessels that carry blood to the brain, which can lead to stroke. Although this doesn’t always occur, this is one reason why you may need to consider curing your snoring.
Making “fish faces” is a great way to help stop snoring. While it sounds odd, positioning your face like this can improve the muscle tone in your face and throat. Just keep your mouth closed and suck your cheeks in. Move your lips around like a fish would. For best results, try this exercise several times every day.
Many people are very self-conscious about their snoring problem, and worry about how they must sound while they sleep. If this sounds like you, then you are sure to appreciate the practical advice in this article.
To deal with snoring in a relationship, it’s important to communicate honestly with your partner. If your snoring is keeping your significant other awake at night, the frustration can wear on both of you. Work together to find a solution to the problem, so you can stop snoring and strengthen your relationship at the same time.
If you suffer from chronic snoring, you may benefit from allergy testing. Allergies can clog the nasal passages and force you to breathe out of your mouth, which causes snoring. Finding out the causes of your allergies allows you to eliminate their sources. Also, you may benefit from taking a prescribed or over-the-counter antihistamine before bed.
A great tip to help people reduce or eliminate their snoring is to exercise the muscles in the throat and tongue as well as perform breathing exercises. This has been a proven method to promote better breathing habits throughout the night which in turn has shown great effectiveness in curing snoring.
Use multiple pillows to reduce snoring. When your head is elevated, your jaw and tongue move forward, keeping the airway open and less restricted. There are also specially designed pillows which can be positioned under the neck, opening the airway. Simply raising your head is often a good solution to snoring issues. Some people find effective relief from their snoring problems by propping themselves up in bed, practically seated upright, using several pillows. This will help stop the nose from getting stuffed with mucus, and will allow your nose to stay clear. This will help your snoring.
Facial exercises such as the “fish face” can help prevent snoring. Although it may sound strange, these faces help strengthen your facial and throat muscles. Just keep your mouth closed and suck your cheeks in. Move your lips as if you were a fish. For best results, try this exercise several times every day. Alcohol should be avoided when you are dealing with snoring. Alcohol can increase the incidence of snoring by relaxing your central nervous system. You snore more when your muscles are relaxed. Avoiding alcohol consumption may help reduce your snoring. A few drinks every now and then are acceptable, but they should not be consumed on a regular basis. If you have allergies, you should avoid taking antihistamines in the four hours before your bedtime. Antihistamines may cause drowsiness, and also dry out nasal passageways. And this can lead to snoring. If you have to take one of those things, make sure to do it a long time before going to bed.
Treat your allergies if you have a tendency to snore at night. If you are congested or your respiratory system is irritated, you will be more likely to snore when you go to sleep. Use a decongestant or an antihistamine to treat your allergies, and keep your airway clear at night. Allergies may be causing the snoring. To stop the snoring, you may have to treat the allergies. If you do not take care of your allergies, your nasal pathways will swell and prevent you from breathing properly. Breathing through the mouth will frequently cause snoring. If you have severe allergies, consult your doctor; otherwise, try an over-the-counter allergy medication. With any luck, the tips and techniques contained here will help you reduce or get rid of your snoring condition, ensuring that you and your partner get a good night’s sleep. Just make sure that you apply what you have learned and keep your efforts consistent. If you do this, your snoring should soon be history.
Snoring can be minimized by maintaining your weight at a healthy level. While snoring is not always related to weight, excess fat around the neck might put pressure on your airway, and that will encourage snoring. If you are even a few pounds overweight, this may be the culprit.
Nasal strips can be an excellent way to treat your snoring. These strips look like a Band-Aid. However, they work very differently from bandages. Nasal strips have been designed specifically to keep your airways open. You will be able to breathe more easily, and, in turn, stop snoring.

You can survive a red-eye flight using sleeping pills. It can be very hard to get sleep on a plane with all the noise, the different surroundings, and the uncomfortable seats. A sleeping pill may be just what you need to go to sleep quickly and make it through your flight without any problems. The key is to hold off taking any pills until after departure so that you are not drowsy in the event you are forced to head back to the terminal.
Even if you have traveled a lot before, visiting new places is always exciting and can be scary. Plan ahead, using these travel tips, and get the most out of your next trip!
Select a pair of shoes you will comfortable in and can remove easily for air travel. You will have to remove them for security checks. Your level of comfort is crucial. There is a bit of walking at the airport, but also a lot of sitting, so they don’t need to have a great deal of support. The best shoes for flying might well be sandals or flip-flops.
Ask to be placed in a room on an upper level, if at all possible. It might seem like no big deal, but thieves have an easier time breaking into rooms on the ground floor. You should also opt for a room without sliding doors whenever possible. Glass or sliding doors are easier to damage.

Purchase tickets online for any attraction you may be visiting. The small fee for such a service is worth it to avoid long lines. Also, check to see if the attraction offers timed entry, as these can allow you to skip lines within the park as well. Have some of your cash exchanged for the local currency before you leave the airport. It can be difficult to get local currency after hours, which can be a problem depending on when you arrive. Most large banks have the ability to exchange or sell foreign currency, so take advantage of this service before you leave.
Make sure contact information listing your name and telephone number is on a label which can easily be found inside your luggage. This is good in the event the bag is lost, since it will help pinpoint who the owner is. Keep in mind that luggage gets misplaced all the time, and you may not get it back.
Plan ahead and exchange some of your currency before you leave on our trip. Some countries can make it difficult to exchange currency outside of normal business hours. Almost all large banks sell foreign currency, so before going to the airport, make a quick run to the bank.
Even the most seasoned jet-setter has to make many different decisions in preparation for an upcoming trip. Thankfully, planning travel is much simpler if you know where to begin and have the right information. The tips that follow were created especially for people who want to travel and want to travel now. To get the most enjoyment while vacationing, make sure to take projected weather conditions into consideration. Always check what the weather forecast will be at your destination. Nothing ruins a trip faster than going to a freezing cold beach or ending up at a sweltering hot ski slope.
Educate yourself on the current political and social situations of a country before you visit it. It may be helpful to visit consular websites in order to get the latest news and tips regarding issues that may impact travel plans. That way you can stay away from any situations that could pose a danger to you.
When traveling by airplane, it is important that you think ahead. Most airports are close to major urban areas, making them difficult to get to at busy times of day, like rush hour. Pack your suitcase the night before. Before your travel day, make sure all of your preparations are taken care of. By being prepared, you will reduce the risk of missing your flight.
When going on a trip with your pet, look for pet friendly accommodations. There are many hotels that allow pets, but see what the requirements are and if there are any added fees to let your pet tag along. Consider all options available before you make your final decision. It is important that it is comfortable for both you and your traveling companion. If you plan to travel with your dogs, you should always brush them before putting them in the car. Doing so helps to reduce loose hair. Double-check before you start your trip to make sure you have all the necessary items for your dog’s care like water bowl, leashes, and food.

Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers
Upon hearing the unique and refreshing sound of Nicki Bluhm, it becomes immediately clear why she is in the midst of a breakout year. Nicki has filled a void in music with her brand of vintage-tinged rocking country soul — music that's like an enchanting friend you've known for a short while but feels like you've known forever. In 2011 alone, Nicki has moved with grace and style from the studio to the main stages of the nation's most revered music festivals (Outside Lands, High Sierra, Strawberry, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass), where her strong voice, striking presence and penchant for songcraft have made an undeniable impression and received rousing reception from audiences of all ages. Nicki's story began at a New Year's Eve party where she sang an Allman Brothers song, catching the attention of musician/producer Tim Bluhm (Mother Hips). With Tim's encouragement, Nicki began to write her own songs and perform in public. The two fell in love and married, followed by the recording of Nickis debut album, Toby's Song (2008), which was heralded as one of Jambase's top ten albums of the year. Nickis music took on a life of its own with the formation of a band with childhood friend and lead guitarist Deren Ney. Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers grew with the addition of drummer Mike Curry (Jackpot), bassist/vocalist Steve Adams (ALO), and rhythm guitarist/vocalist Dave Mulligan. The band headed into the studio and emerged with Nickis sophomore album, Driftwood (2011), a collection of songs that evoke the AM magic of Linda Ronstadt, the honest charm of Johnny and June Cash's duets, and the stoney sounds of retro Memphis soul. "Part Karen Carpenter and part Grace Slick, Bluhm's voice moves effortlessly between softer, country tinged balladry and retro '60s/'70s rock," No Depression declared. Since Driftwoods release, Nicki has performed with her band, as a duo with her husband, as a vocalist for West Coast supergroup Brokedown in Bakersfield, and as the special guest of countless musical legends. She has been called on to share the stage with Chris Robinson, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Steve Kimock, Jackie Greene, Pegi Young and Josh Ritter; and has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Nicki is currently touring and has a new album with Tim called Duets. There's no question that Nicki Bluhm is the It Girl of San Franciscos storied music scene. Luckily for us, the future is looking even brighter for rocks rising star.

Februar 2014, erscheint endlich Close to the Glass, die insgesamt siebte Studioplatte der Band.
The Notwist auf Amazon.de
